Burgess Mean Architects have had a long and successful working relationship with Jes Chandler, Dave Clarke and Stanton Construction Limited, working closely as their advising Architects on new build residential development schemes, or in competitive residential tender situations under more traditional forms of building contract.

Our project association has almost in entirety been centred in Reigate and surrounding outlying village locations; with traditional style ‘surrey vernacular’ sympathetic residential extensions and new build developments of one off houses, small scale cluster houses and larger flatted schemes.

Dealing with sensitive sites in green belt, areas of outstanding natural beauty, conservation areas and on listed buildings have been our combined forte, with a small scale commercial change of use / residential conversion against part of the Reigate castle wall (Crown Steps Barn) which culminated in a Reigate Society Trust Award, granted in October 2008.

Our joint association projects are as follows :
Wray Common Road – 11 No. new building residential flats.

Wray Common Road
– 27 No. new build residential flats.

Ruxley Lane, Ewell – new build house for Minister of the Church

Somers Road – new build house with a Reigate Stone dressed façade.

Park Lane – conversion and change of use to form 2 No. self-contained houses.

Crown Steps Barn – conversion and change of use of derelict Grade II Listed office outbuilding to form 1 No. two bedroom house.

Cliftons Lane – extension and alterations to existing garage and residential annexe building.

West Street – extensions and alterations to a Grade II Listed detached house.

Flanchford Road – conversion and change of use of three Grade II Listed and Locally Listed period buildings to form 3 No. two bedroom houses, with 3 No. new build cottage style houses on brown field land to the rear. Buckland Road – 16 No. new build residential flats with underground car parking.

Over the last fifteen years we have used Stanton Constructions for works, varying between £100 and £1,000,000, and each job is treated with the same care and attention. All of the major works have been finished on time, and more importantly, on budget. The personal attention of Jes Chandler is always appreciated, with him always being available to assist.

As well as planned works Stanton are also our first port of call for reactive works and can be contacted 24 hours a day. Running a successful shopping centre, we need that flexibility from a contractor. The prices quoted are always competitive and Stanton have won all of the large works projects at the shopping centre by way of tendering.
